What is BandHelper?
BandHelper is a cloud-based service with companion mobile apps designed to reduce the organizational burden of playing in a band. It serves as a repository for all your repertoire, schedule, contacts and finance info and shares it with your bandmates effortlessly.
BandHelper is a band-management app for keeping songs, set lists, schedules, contacts, documents, recordings, and other band details in one shared place. Lyrics and chords are stored and ready to be viewed during rehearsals and live performances. Setlistto is built for bands that already use BandHelper as the source of truth for their song lists and want to create and sync Spotify playlists to stay current.
Setlistto is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by BandHelper or Spotify.
I've been using BandHelper for 2 years with my cover band, Pop Rockets. It is one of the most important tools in my arsenal as a musician as it is the source of truth for the music I play.
While BandHelper supports uploading recordings to a song, I wanted a way to sync certain Smart Lists and tags I had in BandHelper with Spotify, giving the band a simple way to hear the songs we planned to learn or a quick way to send a playlist of our repertoire to people interested in booking us.
I've found this to be incredibly useful, so I thought I'd make some improvements and share the tool with other BandHelper users who might benefit, as well.
The app itself is freely available to anyone who wants it. Just spin it up using Docker on your local machine, home server, or a server you operate. If you need help getting things going, managed installations and premium support are available to purchase.
I hope you find Setlistto as helpful for you as it has been for me!
Sincerely,
—Pat Dryburgh
